Content Marketing for Real Estate Agents – New Podcast E 1

It’s time! I finally started a podcast. After years of listening to some favorite podcasts of mine ( listed at the bottom of this post ) I’m finally taking the plunge. Thanks to Gary Vee and the Anchor App, creating and publishing a podcast is now quick and easy.

Content Marketing for Real Estate Agents

I decided I will make my podcast about marketing for real estate agents. After working with more than a few agents I have found the marketing space for agents to be wide open. No one, and I mean NO ONE, is taking advantage of using the most powerful type of marketing to promote themselves. I was shocked at the lack of effort by agents using content marketing. Today I am going to give a little intro on why you should be content marketing if you are a real estate agent.

Why Content Marketing

Why should real estate agents use content marketing? Content marketing is one of the most effective forms of marketing. It sets you apart as an expert in your field. Just by explaining and teaching about the industry it creates trust and confidence in you. I believe the reason most businesses don’t use content marketing is that they don’t fully understand the power of it, and that it can be a bit challenging to get started. Content marketing is based on Content + Time + Consistency = Results. It’s a long term marketing strategy which makes it not as attractive to some people. Our culture is conditioned for instant gratification, this strategy thrives on consistency over time. If you are willing to stick with it and be consistent, the leads you will collect will be the highest quality leads you will ever see. Just a bit of warning you NEED to commit to this for at least 6 months. I would even say a year.

How to Use Content Marketing

This section will be a nutshell of how to start content marketing. I will be covering this in depth in later podcasts and posts. First off you need to have a plan. Nothing will derail good intentions of content marketing like not having a plan. after a few weeks you will definitely stop creating content if you don’t have a plan in place to keep you on schedule. You will blank out on what to write or you wont be in the mood to write. So create a plan. Start with one post a week, more than one is better, but one post a week will get you started. Put a 52 week plan in place and get started! It really is that simple. We are going to cover all these in depth in the future so don’t worry if you still have questions.

I will go over the planning process in the next post and podcast. Stay tuned. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions so far!
